This morning, I have arranged purple and red tulips in assorted small glass vases along the radiator cover in the dining room.
I found the large shells in the woods behind the house soon after we moved in. I guess a former resident had tossed them out there.

A fascinating ‘vase’! And you’ve caught your tulips at that stage I love them most, when the stems begin to twist – they look as other-worldly as the shells do.
Tulips always do their own thing — sometimes they grow a couple of inches.
I think that’s why the stems twist, isn’t it, because they continue to grow in the vase? Very eccentric!
So artistic! Fabulous!
Thank you! I saw something on Pinterest (of course) and bought the vases to line up down the center of the dining room table, but the radiator cover needed something too.
I love the way you have arranged these on the radiator cover – what a great display they make, and what great find those shells were!
When I first spotted the big shell, I could only see the tip, so I was amazed how big it was — and that anyone would discard it.
Cindy, what a great way to display the tulips! Perky, fun and beautiful.
Thanks! I think we all have to overdose on tulips this time of year.
That is so cool! Such inquisitive personalities they are showing in this display! It’s like they are busy checking out what’s going on around them!
Thanks! You’re right; tulips do have that look.
Your tulips look as though they are dancing in their vases, very pretty.
Here’s my little vase today:

What a great vase with the narcissus — if only for a minute.
What a very artistic arrangement of the tulips!
Thank you!
This is just a perfect display to my eye. You get to see the tulips growing and twisting, and limiting flower color makes it possible to see that long group as one. I love those European radiator covers. Nothing as nice in the U.S. that I’ve ever seen. The weight of the shells nicely anchors the display to the radiator.
Thank you. Until I can afford a tall Delft blue and white tulip vase :-), this works pretty well for setting off individual blooms.
