The house exists today as a private residence — in seemingly excellent condition, but, alas, the sconces and vines are gone.

How incredibly different the modern image looks. I’m glad to see the house preserved and yet it looks less “lived in” by being so perfect.
I prefer the “patina-ed” look — and I definitely would have kept those sconces and the vines.
Wow, the house today is so darn clean. While I’m all for the edited look, I love the vines and a bit of overgrowth.
