Irish Potato Federation via http://www.potato.ie
This photo accompanied a recent New York Times article on the Irish Potato Federation’s efforts to get the Irish people to go back to eating lots of potatoes instead of pasta — a lost cause I think; Italian seems to be the default food of Europe these days.
However, forget vegetables, what interesting topiary in the background!
Looking closely, I think the hearts are fake. They seem to be mounted on poles. But I really like that little cluster of boxwoods (?) on the right.

Trust me, we still eat plenty of them in Dublin.

Hahaha! I know a certain group of kids that love their mashed potatoes!
Those boxwoods are awesome….I should trim mine and use the trimmings for decorating….wish you were here to do it for me!
Someone did a lot of careful clipping to get those pretty little mounds in the picture.
